BoomerZ initiative – Connecting generations, securing knowledge
With the retirement of the baby boomer generation, many companies face a massive loss of knowledge—and the shortage of skilled workers is becoming even more acute. The new BoomerZ initiative, developed by DE software & control GmbH, addresses this challenge directly: it brings together experienced baby boomers and the digitally savvy Generation Z to preserve valuable expertise for the future.
The concept: Young employees film experienced colleagues at work, digitize their know-how through video and AI-supported text processing, and thus make it accessible to future generations. The resulting instructions and work guidelines can be provided in various languages and flexibly adapted—benefiting industry, trades and the service sector.
BoomerZ not only promotes knowledge transfer and facilitates the onboarding of new professionals, but also builds bridges between generations: both sides benefit from each other, develop mutual understanding, and strengthen their skills—from years of experience to digital know-how.
Digitalization is at the heart of the initiative and becomes the key in the fight against the shortage of skilled workers. BoomerZ invites companies, associations, and educational institutions to actively participate and thus jointly secure the future viability of Germany as business location.
