The DE group relies on Artificial Intelligence and supports demographic change
The DE group impressively demonstrates how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support demographic change. With innovative solutions and award-winning technology, the group positions itself as a pioneer in the field of AI, offering sustainable answers to the challenges of the future.
For the second time, the DE group has been awarded the TOP100 prize as one of the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany. Additionally, Dr. Theo Steininger, son of the managing director Friedrich Steininger, won the prestigious Red Fox Award 2025 as an “AI Visionary.” These awards underscore the company’s outstanding innovative strength.
For over 20 years, the DE group has been delivering software solutions primarily used in the automotive industry. With the expansion into Artificial Intelligence, the company is now opening up new applications in almost all sectors. “Our solutions enable sustainable conservation and provision of knowledge,” explains Andreas Tobisch, COO of DE software & control GmbH. This is done very simply: a video is recorded via mobile phone, sent to the cloud, and processed there using AI. The result is a text file that creates work instructions or documentation for production businesses or manufacturing.
Dr. Theo Steininger emphasizes the importance of information processing through AI: “We now have the opportunity to systematically capture, process, and distribute expertise.” There are no language barriers, as the system can practically process any language.
The DE group places special emphasis on intergenerational collaboration. With the BoomerZ initiative, the knowledge of the Baby Boomer generation is documented and shared with Generation Z to preserve valuable know-how. “We are making a practical contribution to demographic change,” explains Friedrich Steininger. “What else will we do when today’s know-how carriers all retire?”
The DE group shows that Artificial Intelligence is not only relevant for large corporations. Especially small and medium-sized enterprises benefit from the simple and effective solutions that improve information flow and facilitate everyday tasks. “You don’t have to be artistic or build a rocket with AI,” says Dr. Theo Steininger.
With these innovative approaches, the DE group sets new standards and shows how Artificial Intelligence can actively support demographic change.
